What makes a great man great?
This is a question that has been asked for hundreds of years because in order to replicate something great you must first understand it. Based on an article by Entrepreneur magazine, inspiring leaders have 7 characteristics such as positivity, gratefulness, vision, great communication, and listening skills, trustworthiness and passion. Those are all definitely inspiring characteristics but characteristics alone don’t mean much unless you use them in action.
Inspiring leaders Inspire Action in others, they inspire people to put their differences aside and unite for a greater good.
At JB Clothiers we want to highlight some of these inspiring gentlemen who are doing just that in the City of Angels with our brand new series Inspiring Men Of Los Angeles.
As the leading bespoke suit maker in LA voted best suit maker 4 consecutive years, JB Clothiers dresses some of the most prominent men in the city from politicians and athletes, to top CEO’s and Celebrities. We have the honor of getting to know these men in a more personal way because we provide a bespoke experience that requires time together. We hear about their projects, dress them for awards ceremonies where they are acknowledged for their accomplishments, and learn about all of the amazing work they are doing for their families, their staff, non profit organizations and for the greater good. So, it was only a matter of time that we got the idea to highlight these men as well as others who are not necessarily our clients but men who we consider to be exceptional and inspiring.
We will be launching the series with a truly inspiring human being, Steve Carlston. Steve has a long history of greatness in the media world and has been a key figure in the success of the various organizations he has worked with. Under his leadership, NBC4 has received more than 145 industry awards and philanthropic awards. His passion for community is exemplified in his on-air franchises, including “Life Connected,” a weekly series that features the strength that comes from the diversity in Southern California. He also champions ‘I Am a Volunteer,’ which is an initiative that connects viewers with charitable volunteer opportunities.
After meeting with Steve and getting to know him better we learned that in addition to all of that amazingness, he is also on the board of a few organizations that are dedicated to helping African American men as well as one that is dedicated to helping kids in the foster care system called CASA which we will be highlighting with our other series, the JBCHALLENGE where we feature incredible organizations that are doing great work in LA. And if all of that wasn’t enough, he is the father of 5 so it leaves us wondering how he gets all of this done and is always smiling and a genuinely kind hearted person.
The goal and mission of both Inspiring Men Or Los Angeles and the JBCHALLENGE is to show that even though we are a business that is focused on fashion, we do care about our community and will continue to do our part in helping in whichever way we can. We hope to inspire others to do the same and to use their platform to help others in whatever way they can, as big or small as that may be.
